About Egypt Gold Price

Egypt Gold Price is an independent online publication that tracks the live price of gold and silver in the Egyptian market. We were built for a specific reader: the Egyptian household buyer, the jewelry shopper, the small saver, and the long-term holder who uses gold as a hedge against EGP inflation. Our goal is to make the Egyptian gold market legible — in plain Arabic and English, with real numbers, refreshed every couple of seconds.

Why this site exists

Most global gold trackers quote XAU/USD spot. That number is not what an Egyptian buyer pays at a shop in Cairo, Alexandria, or Mansoura. The local price reflects USD/EGP conversion, dealer spread (~3.11% on average), and labor cost / masna'iya (~4.45% for typical 21K jewelry). We wrote our own pricing model around the Egyptian market so the numbers on this site map directly to what you experience at the counter — not a wholesale abstraction.

What we publish

Live spot prices for 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K gold per gram, per ounce, and per kilogram, in EGP, USD, GBP and EUR. Live USD/EGP, GBP/EGP and EUR/EGP exchange rates. The Egyptian Gold Pound (Geneih Dahab) derived as 8g × 21K. A Zakat calculator covering the four Sunni madhabs. A bullion / PnL calculator for bars and coins. Original editorial guides on Egyptian gold economics, workmanship pricing, karat choice, and inflation hedging.

Who runs it

Egypt Gold Price is operated by a small editorial team focused on financial transparency in the MENA region. Editorial decisions (which prices to publish, how to derive them, how to write about Zakat) are made independently of any jeweler, exchange, or advertiser. We are not affiliated with any retail gold shop or bullion dealer in Egypt.

How we make money

The site is free. Costs (data, hosting) are covered by display advertising and, in the future, optional supporter contributions. We do not accept paid placement in editorial content, do not accept sponsored prices, and do not rank jewelers. See our Editorial Policy for the full advertising disclosure.

Contact

Tips, corrections, business inquiries: our contact form. We read every message and aim to reply within two business days. For technical methodology questions see our Methodology page.

Our Editorial Team

Egypt Gold Price is published by a small editorial collective — not a single named individual. We made that choice deliberately: financial content for the Egyptian gold market is YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) information, and we would rather be honest about collective authorship than attach a fabricated personal byline to a piece reviewed by several editors.

Our team tracks Egyptian gold market data daily, sourcing from the Egyptian Gold & Jewellery Division, the Central Bank of Egypt FX feed, and international bullion markets via the LBMA-aligned XAU/USD tape. Every editorial article is reviewed by at least two team members against our methodology and editorial policy.

Corrections and editorial feedback go to our contact form. If you spot an error, we will correct it and add a dated correction note to the affected article.
